Help

1. Quick Search (Home page)

On the home page, enter a gene symbol in the Quick Search box, select "Verified target genes" or "Predicted target genes", and click the button to search directly.

2. Search for verified target genes

Click "Verified target genes" on the menu. You can filter by PPAR subtype (PPARα, PPARδ, PPARγ, or All) and/or search by gene symbol. The result table lists the gene symbol, species, tissue/cell type, regulation direction (activation or repression), and the reference PubMed ID.

3. Search for predicted target genes

Click "Predicted target genes" on the menu, select a PPAR model (PPARA, PPARD, PPARG, or the integrative PPARs model), and enter a human gene symbol. For each query, the page presents the following evidence:

  • PPAR Target Score — the prediction score, decision threshold, positive vote fraction, and a status badge (Known target / Predicted / Not predicted).
  • Gene Summary (Source: NCBI) — official symbol, official full name, gene type, aliases, summary and expression profile.
  • Log Fold Change — fold-change evidence across GEO microarray/RNA-seq datasets; values are colored by magnitude (warm colors for up-regulation, cold colors for down-regulation).
  • ChIP-seq peaks located within ±5 kb of the transcription start site (TSS).
  • ChIP-Atlas peak signals at the promoter or gene body.
  • PPRE motif annotation for human and mouse/rat.

4. Download data

Click "Downloads" on the menu to download datasets of experimentally verified PPAR target genes and computationally predicted PPAR target genes.
